Yarraman Park tasted further stakes success as a vendor over the weekend in South Africa with three year-old colt Lord Balmoral taking out the Listed Fairview Wines Sophomore Sprint at Kenilworth on Saturday. Trained by Vaughan Marshall, Lord Balmoral ran out an easy length and three-quarter winner of the 1200 metre sprint and has now won three of seven starts. Offered by Yarraman Park at the 2015 Inglis Classic Summer Book, Lord Balmoral was knocked down to Balmoral Stud / Heritage Bloodstock for $53,000. The son of Star Witness becomes the fourth winner from four to race for Balmoral Belle, a half-sister by Zabeel to former smart stayer Scouting Wide and hails from a family not lacking in quality middle distance performers. Yarraman Park will present 21 yearlings at the 2017 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, eight of them by I Am Invincible and Hinchinbrook.
