Sydney, February 28- The juvenile fillies maiden at Canterbury on Thursday night was won in devastating style by the Gai Waterhouse trained Amelia’s Dream, a $250,000 purchase from the Yarraman Park draft at the 2007 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

An impressive barrier trial winner at Rosehill on February 12, Amelia’s Dream turned in a brilliant effort on debut in leading throughout and kicking right away to win by more than nine lengths.

“She’s a fantastic filly and has always shown that at home,” said Tania Rouse, foreman for Gai Waterhouse.

“She has a great attitude and will aim towards the Slipper lead ups.”

Bred by Hilton Cope and partners, Amelia’s Dream is the fifth foal of the former very good racemare Shalt Not, a Listed winner of four races and $827,335 in prizemoney.

Already the dam of smart winners Doubtful Choice and Ravishing Choice, she is a half-sister to the dam of Group One winner Grand Zulu.

The current yearling from Shalt Not, a colt by Exceed and Excel, was foaled and raised at Yarraman Park and will be offered by Phoenix Broodmare Farm as agent as Lot 173 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.
