July 25 – Chilean Horse of the Year and triple Group I winner Trotamondo (Chi) is set to relocate to Western Australia from Yarraman Park and will stand at Belay Stud in the care of studmaster Robert Martin.
A champion three year-old by proven sire of sires Hussonet, Trotamondo has struggled in recent years to find favour in the highly competitive Hunter Valley stallion market and it is hoped he will receive more opportunity in the West.
With his oldest progeny just three year-olds, Trotamondo is the sire of nine winners from 23 runners including metropolitan performers Rewind Time, Magondo, Santiago, Hot to Trot, etc.
“He arrived over here in great shape from Yarraman Park and we are very happy with him,” said Robert Martin.
“We got him to replace Brocco, who we’ve had here for the last few years and we plan to cover our mares with him, but would also be happy to accommodate some outside mares as well.
“Based where we are at Greenough up near Geraldton it’s not always easy to get good thoroughbred stud vets, but we are lucky to have some excellent ones here that relocated from Scone, so visiting mares will get the very best of care.”
Trotamondo will stand at a fee of $1,500 and for more information call Robert Martin on 0428 261 114
