After recently announcing the acquisition of one of Hussonet’s finest sons in Trotamondo (Chi), Yarraman Park has now settled on an introductory service fee of $22,000 (inc. GST).

A triple Group One winner of six races who was crowned Champion Three Year-Old and Chilean Horse of the Year in 2005, Trotamondo carries an all American pedigree through his female family and is completely free of Northern Dancer blood.

“Given the success of Hussonet in Australia we thought it wise to pursue securing one of his sons for Yarraman Park and in Trotamondo we have a horse regarded as the very best of his offspring to come out of South America,” said Arthur Mitchell.

Trotamondo is due to arrive in Australia on May 24 with an expected release from quarantine on June 14, allowing plenty of time for breeders to inspect this charismatic son of Hussonet prior to the official start of the breeding season on September 1.

“We are really looking forward to his arrival at the farm and we encourage breeders to come and inspect him from the middle of June onwards,” Mitchell added.

Trotamondo’s sire Hussonet has been on fire this season and with his oldest Australian progeny just three year-olds is currently running fifth on the general sires list with earnings of $4.1million.

Hussonet averaged $454,167 at the recent Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and his best Australian offspring are headed by six-time Group One winner and champion three year-old elect Weekend Husssler, plus Blue Diamond winner Reaan, along with stakes-winners Dirty and Huiskes.

Service fees for associate sires Magic Albert and Foreplay will remain unchanged.
