January 8 – Magic Albert was in hot form on Wednesday with a treble of winners, Hot Albert scoring at Randwick, while Nadia’s Magic and Happy Highway both scored at Geelong.
The Chris Waller trained Hot Albert broke through after a string of consistent recent runs, taking the 1550 metre maiden by a short neck.
Hot Albert was a $220,000 NZB Premier Yearling Sale purchase for Magic Bloodstock from the draft of Ascot Farm, who achieved quite a profit with the youngster, who they pinhooked from the Inglis Weanling Sale for $71,000.
Hot Albert is the second winner from Flying Spur mare Hearth, a three-quarter sister to Group I Hong Kong Derby winner Super Satin.
Magic Albert has 35 yearlings to be offered at Magic Millions and another 16 for Inglis Classic.
