Sydney, February 28 – Brilliant Anabaa (USA) mare Disciplined resumed from a spell with a scintillating victory at Rosehill on Saturday and looks to have the potential to add a good deal of value to her half-sister by Encosta de Lago who will be offered by Yarraman at the 2009 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
A $650,000 purchase from the Coolmore draft at the 2006 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Disciplined gave notice of her intention to capture Black Type this preparation when she bolted in to win the restricted event over 1100 metres by more than three lengths in class record time.
The Peter Snowden trained mare has won four of seven starts earning $119,600 and will be hard to beat when she steps up to stakes company.
Disciplined is from the Marscay mare Orderly, a full sister to former top class galloper Excellerator, winner of a Group One AJC Epsom Handicap and some $2.2 million in prizemoney.
Orderly has an Encosta de Lago filly entered for the 2009 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale to be offered by Yarraman Park as Lot 141.
Another Yarraman Easter entry that has had an intriguing update is Lot 305, an Encosta de Lago colt from Emancipation’s daughter Virage.
Already the dam of five winners including dual Group One winner Virage de Fortune, Virage added a new winner to her tally at a recent Moonee Valley night meeting when Avenue, the full sister to Virage de Fortune, made a winning debut for the Peter Moody stable.
Avenue is set to target Black Type this Saturday at Flemington so her performance will be closely watched.
