In a brief career of just six starts, I Am Invincible colt Hellbent has shown well above average ability with Yarraman Park moving to secure a half share in the promising three year-old, who is entered for the Group II ATC Arrowfield Sprint this Saturday at Randwick. A last start winner of the $250,000 Inglis Dash at Flemington, the Kurt Goldman trained colt is set to resume from a short break with the Brisbane Winter Carnival in his sights. “We monitor all the colts by our sires and he appeals as a horse with plenty of potential,” said Harry Mitchell. “We are buying him firstly as a racehorse and we’ll see where that leads.” A stunning looking bay, very reminiscent of his sire, Hellbent has already won three of six starts, placing in two others with his lone unplaced effort coming when finishing eighth in the Group I VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes to Japonisme. His sire I Am Invincible goes from strength to strength, while his barn-mate Hinchinbrook was making headlines at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale this week with his first $1million yearling. “The success of I Am Invincible and Hinchinbrook has been very rewarding, but given their growing commercial profile and widespread popularity we feel it’s time to consider another horse to satisfy the needs of our diverse range of clients and maybe Hellbent will be that horse,” Mitchell added.
