Yarraman Park based Hinchinbrook tasted stakes success last weekend as the sire of unbeaten Perth juvenile stakes-winner Whispering Brook, but the famed Yarraman brand was carried to victory by two other stakes-winners in Wawail and Moshki, who were both foaled and raised at the Mitchell family run farm. A homebred for Shadwell Australia, four year-old Lonhro mare Wawail is no stranger to stakes success having won the Group II VRC AV Kewney Stakes last season. Prepared by David Hayes and Tom Dabernig, Wawail showed she was back to her best in posting a dominant length win in the 1400 metre feature taking her overall record to six wins and four placings from 14 starts with prizemoney topping $470,000. Wawail is the first foal of Group II winning Redoute’s Choice mare El Daana, who produced a full brother to Wawail last spring and is now in foal to I Am Invincible. Scoring a history making win in the Listed SAJC Cinderella Stakes in Adelaide was two year-old Moshe filly Moshki, who became the first winner and stakes-winner for her promising young sire, best known as the full brother to Black Caviar. Her dam Zedski had a lovely yearling filly by I Am Invincible that was sold through the Inglis Classic Yarraman Park draft earlier this year fetching $150,000 to the bid of Star Thoroughbreds. Yarraman Park are looking forward to the 2016 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale where they will present 22 youngsters by all the leading sires including I Am Invincible and Hinchinbrook.
