Yarraman Park yearlings were in keen demand at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, with 17 youngsters selling for $1.9 million, and Brave Smash provided the highlight of the draft.
Knocked down to Grahame Begg Racing / Rohan Hughes Bloodstock for $300,000, the Brave smash colt is a half-brother to smart Sydney metro winner Wootton Lass and is the third foal from The Natural, a metro-winning half-sister by Fastnet Rock to dual G1 winner Fiveandahalfstar.
The family has also produced G1 ATC Spring Champion Stakes winner El Castello and stakes-winner Rhapsody Rose with just two dams on the page.
Our next best result came with the I Am Invincible filly from stakes-winner Dendee that made $250,000 when snapped up by Bennett Racing, who purchased Jimmy Recard – by I Am Invincible – from Yarraman.
We also sold the half-sister by Dundeel to Saturday’s RL Inglis Millennium winner Fireball, who is now in contention for the Golden Slipper. The filly from Advance Party made $150,000 when secured by O’Brien Thoroughbreds.
