Three hot favourites saluted at Doomben on Wednesday for leading trainers Toby Edmonds, Tony Gollan and David Vandyke and all three were by Yarraman Park based sires.
Three year-old Brave Smash (Jpn) filly Crash the Party was long overdue for a win with six previous placings and a fourth in the $3million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.
The Toby Edmonds trained filly made it look easy when cruising clear to win the 1350m maiden by a length and a half taking her overall prizemoney soaring past $400,000 – she is Australia’s best maiden no more!
Tony Gollan has a happy knack for improving horses that were expensive yearlings and find themselves on Inglis Digital with I Am Invincible gelding Zarastro a case in point and now a $1.5million earner.
Four year-old Braveheart has a similar profile having made $1.3million as a yearling before being snapped up by Executive Racing Club for $110,000 on Inglis Digital last year.
Braveheart has been making progress through his grades and the full brother to Group winner King of Sparta scored by three-quarters of a length over 1110m.
David Vandyke delivered the third winner when progressive Hellbent mare Lady Lucifer landed her fifth win from just 13 starts when scoring over 1350m in a thriller.
A modest $55,000 Inglis Classic purchase from Yarraman Park for OnTrack Thoroughbreds, she has banked nearly $170,000 for her ownership group.
It’s been a great season for the Yarraman sires with I Am Invincible and Hellbent both sitting inside the Top 10 Australian sires by earnings, while Brave Smash is gearing up to build on his promising start with his first Yarraman bred two year-olds to hit the track later this year.
Brave Smash has sired 44 winners this season highlighted by Group II BRC Queensland Guineas winner Brave Monarch, whose co-trainer Chris Munce announced plans this week to target the $10million Golden Eagle.
