March 12 – Yarraman Park graduates Commanding Wit and Bedisguised both tasted success on Wednesday, the latter providing a pedigree update for his half-brother heading to Inglis Easter.
A promising Peter Moody trained three year-old by Black Caviar’s sire Bel Esprit, Bedisguised resumed from a spell to post his second win from just three starts when taking out the Benchmark 64 event over 1200 metres.
A $115,000 Magic Millions purchase from the draft of Yarraman Park for Moody Racing, Bedisguised is the second winner from stakes-placed Magic Harmony, a half-sister by Danehill Dancer (IRE) to Group III winner Life’s a Bounty and stakes-winner Miss Prospect, the dam of Group I MRC Blue Diamond winner Reward for Effort and grand-dam of Group I ATC Golden Slipper winner Overreach.
Magic Harmony has a yearling colt by Magic Albert that will be offered by Yarraman Park at Inglis Easter as Lot 543.
Also successful was the John O’Shea trained Commands mare Commanding Wit, who scored at Canterbury over 1250 metres as a well-supported favourite.
Retained to race by her breeders Tim Hughes and the Dufficy brothers, Commanding Wit was foaled and raised at Yarraman Park and has been a model of consistency winning twice and placing six times from eight starts earning nearly $70,000 in prizemoney.
A three-quarter sister to stakes-placed Fast Talker, Commanding Wit is from stakes-winner Crystal Wit, a half-sister to Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily.
Commanding Wit had a filly by Wanted last spring and was subsequently covered by Bel Esprit.
