Yarraman Park’s champion sire I Am Invincible hit top gear at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale on Wednesday with a colt and a filly both selling for upwards of $1million.

Emirates Park made a big splash at Magic Millions last year selling a colt by Not a Single Doubt for $1.8million and they were in the limelight again selling the full sister to their stakes-winner Najmaty for $1.55million.

A stylish bay very similar to her full sister, the I Am Invincible filly from Group III winning Northern Meteor mare Najoom was bought by Sheamus Mills Bloodstock.

Mills is no stranger to success at this sale plucking Group I MRC Thousand Guineas winning filly Odeum from the Gold Coast sale in 2019 for $420,000.

“You go into these (fillies) as an eight or ten year project,” Mills noted. “You hope they’re very fast and if they’re not you look at getting your money back in the sale ring.

“The families that I Am Invincible has been covering over the last few years – they’re the families that everyone wants to buy into and that’s why they are making these prices.”

Mills said no decision had been made as yet as to who would train the prized filly.

“I would hope that she is a Magic Millions type of filly. We won’t have any shortage of stables wanting to take her.”

The Yarraman Park consigned full brother to Group III MRC Blue Diamond Prelude winner I Am Immortal was an eye-catcher in the sale ring and was bought by James Harron Bloodstock for $1.1million.

Bred and sold by Yarraman, the colt is also a three-quarter brother-in-blood to stakes-winner Whypeeo and is the fifth foal from Group II winner Meliora, who has left three winners.

She also has a three year-old colt called Top Star Sun that made $650,000 at Magic Millions in 2020 when bought by Katumi Yoshida and he has been placed in Japan.

“He’s got a lovely fast pedigree,” James Harron said.

“Obviously the mare has done it with I Am Invincible and having looked at her stock over the last few years I thought he was probably the best she’d thrown.

“He had a great attitude right through the sale and he looks a really precocious type of horse which we think can get up and run early.”

Meliora had a filly by I Am invincible last spring and is back in foal to him again so the success of this colt has been a huge result for the Yarraman Park team.
