January 7 – Australia’s leading first season sire I Am Invincible added a fifth winner to his tally at Wagga on Tuesday when I Am Snippety scored a dominant victory.
The Neil Osborne trained filly was second to Echo Gal on debut at Warwick Farm on December 11 and then fifth at Moonee Valley on December 28 behind Chivalry, so was sent out a red hot favourite to break her maiden in this 1000 metre scamper.
She delivered the goods in no uncertain terms, coasting home to win by two and three-quarter lengths in a brisk 57.65 seconds.
Bred and retained to race by her trainer, I Am Snippety is the second winner for metro winning Snippets mare Snippety Day, who is a half-sister to the dam of this season’s brilliant stakes-placed juvenile Stroak, who will contest the $2million Magic Millions 2YO Classic on Saturday.
The current yearling from Snippety Day is a colt by I Am Invincible that will be offered by Mane Lodge as Lot 704 in Session Five on Sunday.
I Am Snippety is the fifth first crop winner for I Am Invincible joining Group III winner Vinnie Eagle, stakes-winner Bassillique and smart winners I Am The General and Illustrious Lad, not to mention stakes-place getters Tetsuko and Silent Whisper.
I Am Invincible has a sensational draft of 16 yearlings for Magic Millions that are sure to be popular.
