September 19 – He’s already covered a Group I winner and the dam of a Group I winner, so this first season sire is off to a flying start.
He is the Yarraman Park young gun Hinchinbrook, who has been firing on all cylinders at the start of spring.
“He has great fertility and is working through his book of mares with plenty of enthusiasm,” said Harry Mitchell.
“One of the early mares to test positive to Hinchinbrook is Skyescent, the dam of Group I Underwood Stakes winner Rubiscent.”
Other mares already covered by the three-quarter brother by Fastnet Rock to leading young sire Snitzel include Group I winner Danglissa, stakes-winners Devoirs , Saint Minerva and Is Amazing as well as Gypsy Dollar (dam of Group III winner Viking Hero) and Fortunata (dam of SW Chic Choice).
Due to be covered in coming days are: stakes-winner Jade Diva, the dam of Group III MRC Thousand Guineas Prelude winner Bliss Street; Carlton Ace, the dam of stakes-placed Al’s Magic Miss; the dam of Group II winner Court Command; stakes-winning juvenile Fullazz and blue-blooded Zabeel mare Albakoor, a half-sister to Group I winner Rewaaya from the family of Golden Slipper winner Forensics and leading sire Snippets.
A brilliant juvenile and Group I performer at three by a red hot sire in Fastnet Rock, Hinchinbrook stands at a fee of $16,500 and is the only stakes-winning sire son of Fastnet Rock at stud in NSW.
