Sydney, October 5 – Talented filly Tetusko very nearly gave her young sire I Am Invincible the perfect start to his stud career by winning the Listed ATC Gimcrack Stakes, but was caught right on the line to be beaten a long head by Alpha Miss with more than two lengths back to the third filly.
“She ran super,” said her rider Brenton Avdulla.
“The winner was just a bit too good.”
The Gerald Ryan trained filly had won her only previous trial brilliantly and will obviously be winning her share of races in the future.
Tetsuko was bred and offered for sale by Yarraman Park, fetching $110,000 to the bid of her trainer at the Magic Millions back in January making her the most expensive filly from the first crop of I Am Invincible, whose first runner in New Zealand, Vinnie Eagle, is a winner.
Tetsuko is a half-sister to six winners including stakes-placed Star Cat and Purrpurrlena being from stakes-winning Snaadee (USA) mare Magdalena, who has already foaled this spring producing a full brother to Tetsuko.
