Sydney, December 21 – Talented filly Happy Hussy, a $110,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Yarraman Park draft, led her rivals a merry dance at the ATC metropolitan meeting at Wyong on Wednesday.
An easy winner when resuming from a spell at Canterbury last month, the filly then finished a close second at Rosehill before returning to the winner’s circle in the 1350 metre restricted event for fillies and mares with a tenacious effort for apprentice rider Chad Schofield.
The David Payne trained filly has been very consistent in winning twice and running second twice from just six starts earning $54,880.
A daughter of accomplished sire Hussonet (USA), who is now based at Cornerstone Stud in South Australia, Happy Hussy is a half-sister to Group III placed Prix du Sang and is the third winner for the Desert King (IRE) mare Morinda, a half-sister to Group II winner So Gorgeous, Group II winner Wild Queen and stakes-winner Cumbria.
Morinda traces back to the great matriarch Denise’s Joy through the Joy and Fun branch of the family and her current yearling, a filly by Sebring, has been entered by Yarraman Park for the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
