Melbourne, January 21 – The maiden event over 1300 metre at Seymour on Thursday was won in good style by Al Maher filly Lady Mahler, a $70,000 purchase from the Yarraman draft at the 2008 Magic Millions.

Narrowly beaten on debut at the same track on January 7, Lady Mahler was backed into $1.45 favouritism for this assignment and got the job done, running away at the finish to score by more than a length with a further five lengths back to the third horse.

Trained by Clinton McDonald, who also purchased the filly, Lady Mahler races for a big syndicate and looks to have good potential.

A half-sister to handy metropolitan winners Barrenjoey Sunrise and Accolade, Lady Mahler is from the stakes-winning mare Promise Me (NZ), who died in 2008.

Yarraman Park has a small draft of nine yearlings for the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale starting Sunday being consigned under the Murrulla Stud as agent for Yarraman banner.
