Yarraman Park’s champion sire I Am Invincible has surged straight past the milestone of 200 seasonal winners with another great day at the office on Saturday yielding five winners around Australia.

The Chris Waller stable has had a great run during the winter with their progressive three year-old Oscar Zulu, who was shooting for his fourth consecutive win at Randwick, but all good things come to an end and it was his stablemate Blondeau that took out the Benchmark 88 event over 1400m.

Third in the Group II ATC Todman Stakes at two behind Group I winning colts Farnan and Tagaloa, I Am Invincible three year-old Blondeau has always shown ability, but was gelded at the end of last year after losing form.

Blondeau has been more consistent since then, not finishing further back than fourth in nine starts this year.

He enjoyed a cosy run from gate one for Tommy Berry and surged clear to win by a length and a quarter taking his overall record to four wins and six placings from 17 starts with prizemoney in excess of $325,000.

Blondeau was a $360,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Baramul Stud draft for Waller Racing/Mulcaster Bloodstock and is the first foal of Bit of Cheek, a winning More Than Ready (USA) daughter of Group I winner Cheeky Choice.

Bit of Cheek was one of 193 mares covered last spring by I Am Invincible, who stands at a fee of $220,000.
