The 2018 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale produced great results for Yarraman Park with 12 yearlings sold in Book 1 and 2 for $5.6million highlighted by a Snitzel colt from Tetsuko that made $1.4 million to the bid of Shadwell Australia.

Bred and sold by Yarraman Park, the Snitzel colt is the first foal of stakes-placed I Am Invincible mare Tetsuko, who was also bred by Yarraman.

Tetsuko was the first horse to put I Am Invincible on the map when she won impressively at the early season two year-old trials and then was beaten a long head in the Listed ATC Gimcrack Stakes, so it’s fitting to see her produce such an expensive yearling in her first season at stud by Snitzel, who was also bred at Yarraman.

The colt comes from the family of Entisaar, who enjoyed Group I success in South Africa for Shadwell.

“He’ll be trained by David Hayes. Very athletic horse with a fantastic attitude,” Angus Gold of Shadwell told ANZ Bloodstock News.

“I don’t think he is necessarily an early horse but a really lovely horse. We were lucky with Entisaar, who was a champion two-year-old in South Africa so if he could do the same here I will be very happy.”

The success of I Am Invincible aside, Hinchinbrook also delivered the goods at Inglis Easter with seven yearlings averaging $207,857.

His best result came with a colt from Cloak of Night that made $480,000 for Corumbene Stud when purchased by Wexford Stables/ Andrew Williams Bloodstock.
