Hong Kong, February 19 – A dominant win by handy Encosta de Lago galloper Chater de Lago at Happy Valley on Wednesday evening has come at a perfect time with his half-brother by Commands to be offered by Yarraman Park at the 2009 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.
Trained by David Ferraris, Chater de Lago improved off a last start second at the same track to race right away and take the 1650 metre event by three and a quarter lengths, notching the fourth win of his career.
He is one of four winners from the good producer Cantinela, whose best offspring is stakes-winning sprinter Cocinero, a winner of more than $500,000 in prizemoney.
To be offered as Lot 274, her colt by Commands is a big strapping individual, very typical of the good sorts of colts his sire is renowned for producing.
