October 31 – A half-sister by Redoute’s Choice to Group One winner Rewaaya has arrived safely at Yarraman Park with mother and daughter reported to be in excellent health.

“She’s a magnificent type by Redoute’s Choice, a really lovely filly,” said Arthur Mitchell.

Owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum’s Shadwell Stud, Rewaaya’s mother Nasmah is a permanent border at Yarraman and Rewaaya was also raised at the stud before departing for Lindsay Park and a racing career that has seen her net $682,030 in prizemoney.

The near black daughter of Singspiel (IRE) has been in dazzling form this spring claiming Group One success in the MRC Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes and finishing a gallant second in the Group One MRC Toorak Handicap.

She will chase further Group One glory at Flemington this Saturday where David Hayes has entered her for the Group One VRC Myer Classic, a 1600 metre weight-for age event for fillies and mares.

“The Shadwell horses have been having a great spring with Tawqeet, Rewaaya and even the three-year old filly Ulfah, which is running in the Wakeful Stakes this Saturday and looks a hope in the Oaks,” said Mitchell.

Shadwell have made a substantial investment in Australian racing over a long period, their success going back to Melbourne Cup winners At Talaq (USA) and Jeune (GB), which were both highly successful at stud on retirement.

The continuing involvement of Shadwell is a great asset to the Australian bloodstock industry and their achievements are to be congratulated.
